According to media reports, Liverpool is fearing a suspected leg fracture for Alexander Isak.
The 26-year-old striker came on as a substitute for Conor Bradley at halftime and sustained the injury when he calmly slotted home to open the scoring in the 56th minute, latching onto a pass from Florian Wirtz. After scoring, he was clumsily brought down by a sliding tackle from Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven and was unable to celebrate with his teammates.
Isak received treatment and was helped off the pitch by two Liverpool medical staff, with Jeremie Frimpong coming on in his place.
Liverpool is concerned about the extent of the damage to the striker’s calf. The exact nature of the injury remains to be confirmed, but such injuries typically result in an absence of at least several months.
Media reports had previously stated that the club fears a serious leg injury for the 26-year-old player.
