Barcelona’s long-awaited contract renewal negotiations with Eric García have entered the final stage.
After weeks of talks, both parties have reached an agreement in principle. Eric had received an offer from Paris Saint-Germain, coached by Luis Enrique (who previously managed the Spanish national team and is acquainted with Eric), but he is determined to stay at Barcelona—because this is his home, and he is extremely satisfied with the current team.
The club regards Eric as a key figure and a strong candidate for future captaincy.
Eric’s renewed contract will run until 2030 and is currently in the final phase. Two days ago, he delivered another excellent performance in the match against Athletic Club Bilbao and is now one of the most valuable players under Hansi Flick.
