Italian striker Giacomo Raspadori has completed his move to Atlético Madrid. After the club reached a transfer agreement with Napoli, the 24-year-old successfully passed his medical and signed a five-year contract (until 2030) at the club’s offices in the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium, officially becoming a Colchonero.
Born in Bentivoglio in 2000, Raspadori is a versatile forward capable of playing across the front line and as a second striker. He began his career in Sassuolo’s youth academy, joining in 2009 and making his first-team debut in May 2019 against Atalanta. During his time at Sassuolo, he made 82 appearances, scoring 18 goals and providing 9 assists.
Raspadori moved to Napoli in the summer of 2022, where he enjoyed trophy success: winning the Serie A title in his first season and retaining it in 2024/25. In 109 games for Napoli, he contributed 18 goals and 10 assists.
On the international stage, Raspadori made his Italy debut at 21 in June 2021 and was part of the Euro 2020-winning squad. To date, he has 40 caps for the Azzurri, with 9 goals and 6 assists to his name, solidifying his role as a key figure in Italy’s attack.
