Darwin Núñez’s transfer to Al Hilal is set to involve a €53 million fee plus add-ons. Al Hilal has reached an agreement with Liverpool on all terms, though this represents a significant reduction from the €85 million Liverpool paid to sign the forward three years ago. Earlier reports of a deal between the clubs have now been confirmed.
Liverpool will receive a fixed fee of €53 million plus performance-based add-ons, while Núñez is currently finalizing personal terms with Al Hilal. It is understood that Núñez stands to make a substantial financial gain by agreeing to the move. He will earn an astonishing £400,000 per week at the cash-rich club—almost three times his £140,000 weekly salary at Liverpool.
Since joining Liverpool from Benfica, Núñez has struggled to fully live up to his price tag. The forward scored 40 goals in 143 appearances for the Reds but faced significant criticism during his tenure due to numerous missed chances.
The deal is now nearing completion, with Núñez willing to accept the transfer. He is expected to travel to Liverpool’s training ground on Thursday to bid farewell before flying to Germany for a medical with Al Hilal.
