Jamal Musiala, who suffered a serious injury at the Club World Cup, is expected to make his comeback in the second half of this month.

On July 5th, the Bayern Munich superstar suffered a severe injury in the Club World Cup quarter-final (a 0-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain) – a fibula fracture and multiple ligament tears in his left ankle. It has now been six months since Jamal Musiala's serious injury.
After the injury, he flew back to Germany from the United States, underwent expert surgery in Murnau, went through 26 weeks of rehabilitation treatment, spent countless hours in rehabilitation training with physiotherapists at the Sabener Strasse training ground, and had one-on-one rehabilitation sessions with rehabilitation coach Simone Martinello (41). He finally returned to team training on December 16th. Now, the countdown to Musiala's comeback has begun.
According to reports, the German national team star (40 appearances, 8 goals) is expected to make his comeback debut for Bayern this month. In the early stages of rehabilitation, Bayern internally hoped he could return to the team by the end of 2025, but did not put any pressure on him regarding his training load. The rehabilitation process has gone smoothly, and he will make his comeback in January.
Other Bayern stars are currently on vacation, enjoying valuable time to relax after the intense matches of the first half of the season, while Musiala continues to conduct individual training during the winter break. This month, he will further integrate into team training until he can participate in high-intensity training with his teammates. It is expected that in the second half of this month, he will most likely wear the Bayern jersey to complete his comeback.
After nearly 200 days of rehabilitation, this will be an exciting moment for Musiala and all Bayern fans. With a dense schedule in January (including the Champions League match against Union Saint-Gilloise on January 21st, the match against Augsburg on January 24th, the away game against PSV Eindhoven on January 28th, and the away game against Hamburger SV on January 31st), Musiala will have plenty of opportunities.
For Bayern, which already has a strong attacking front (85 goals in 25 league games, 3.4 goals per game), Vincent Kompany has one more top option. It is worth mentioning that when senior officials including Uli Hoeneß and Max Eberl rejected the possibility of winter transfer signings in interviews, they directly stated: "The returns of Ko Itakura, Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala are equivalent to three top signings."
