Bayern Munich is determined to renew the contract of defensive core Dayot Upamecano (27, whose contract expires this summer). Bayern's top management has repeatedly emphasized that his continued stay is crucial.
However, this prolonged contract renewal negotiation seems to have made no progress—on the contrary!
Currently, there are no negotiations between Bayern and the agent of the French international regarding a potential renewal. The stalemate between the two parties has lasted for weeks!
Upamecano's agent has put forward their salary demands to Bayern Munich and refused to make any concessions.
Upamecano hopes to become one of the highest-paid players in the team if he stays in Munich, with a target annual salary of approximately €20 million. His current annual salary is estimated at €16 million.
In addition, the French player also demands a signing bonus of around €20 million, following the example of left-back Alphonso Davies (25), who reportedly received a signing bonus of about €22 million when he renewed his contract until the summer of 2030 earlier this year.
No progress is expected in this deal before Christmas.Upamecano and his advisors are in no hurry to renew the contract and are calmly waiting for signals from Munich—they may wait a few more months if necessary.
