In recent weeks, Mendes has helped Barcelona create nearly €30 million in Financial Fair Play room.
According to reports, agent Mendes maintains a good relationship with Barcelona's senior management and has clearly become part of the club's strategic planning. He facilitated the unexpected deal to sell 50% of Trincão's rights to Sporting Lisbon, thereby solidifying Barcelona's registration process.
In recent weeks, Mendes has created nearly €30 million in Financial Fair Play room for Barcelona. Without his operations, the club would not have been able to register their new signings.
Although Mendes failed to bring his client players to Barcelona this summer, he did help Yamal renew his contract. He previously attempted to bring Dumfries to Barcelona, but the club's financial situation made it impossible to pay the €25 million release clause. However, the club still attaches great importance to him.
But he has also done a lot to assist Barcelona. First, there was Fati's departure: the player was able to move to Monaco before June 30, a key date for tax purposes in the country. As a result, the club saved over 60% of the player's salary, hoping he will succeed and be transferred next summer.
Another operation was selling Pau Víctor to Braga for €12 million plus €3 million in add-ons. Although Mendes is not the player's agent, he took full charge of the operation until the player agreed to the deal, and his intermediary role was crucial for this transaction.
Finally, regarding Trincão: earlier in the summer, Mendes assured Barcelona that the club would profit from the Portuguese player. He originally planned to sell him to the Premier League, but no transfer materialized due to a lack of high-value offers and the player's hesitation to return to England.
Ultimately, Mendes devised a plan to sell 50% of the Portuguese player's rights for €11 million. Barcelona could have earned more in the future, but due to circumstances, they had no other choice but to rely on this last lever.
During the summer, Mendes also proposed other transfers that did not come to fruition. He brought a bid of over €10 million from Wolverhampton Wanderers for Gerard Martín, but the player was unwilling to leave, even though Barcelona was open to the transfer.
