With just two days left until the start of the new La Liga season, a total of 158 new signings across La Liga and Segunda División have yet to complete their registration, with only just over half of all transferred players appearing on the official registered lists. Salary cap restrictions and bureaucratic formalities have left multiple teams facing a shortage of available players for the opening round, while in Segunda División, 7 clubs have still not registered any new signings to date.
The situation is particularly severe for some teams. Barcelona, continuing their struggles of recent years, face concerns in the goalkeeper position this season. After Marc-André ter Stegen’s injury, only Iñaki Peña has completed registration, with Joan García and Wojciech Szczęsny unavailable for the first round. Additionally, five players—Marcus Rashford, Gerard Martín, Ford, Bernal, and Baldé—remain unregistered, though the latter three can feature for the B team due to their age. Celta Vigo, Levante, Sevilla, Getafe, Betis, and Elche are also in urgent situations.
