Tottenham submitted an official offer for Savinho earlier this week and received an official response from Manchester City’s team, with City rejecting the €70 million bid.
With two weeks remaining until the closure of the transfer window, talks are ongoing, and Savinho has established himself as one of the most expensive players in Europe’s summer transfer window.
Savinho’s agent traveled to the UK in recent days for negotiations, and the London club has promised to formally finalize a new offer soon. Given the high amount involved, the talks are relatively complex, but all parties are positive about the transfer.
To date, only six signings in the European market have exceeded €70 million in value: Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz (€125 million) and Hugo Ekitike (€80 million), Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesko (€76.5 million), Bryan Mbeumo (€75 million) and Matheus Cunha (€74.2 million), and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen (€75 million).
If talks between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur make progress, Savinho will join the €70 million club.
With the World Cup just one year away, the Brazilian forward understands that at Tottenham, he would have more playing time and a more important role, thereby competing for a spot in Carlo Ancelotti’s final squad.
Savinho had an impressive first season at Manchester City: he made 48 appearances, 36 of which were starts, contributing 3 goals and 11 assists.
