Recently, Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney did not hold back in criticizing Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah, who has been in poor form lately, during an appearance on the Camel Live program.
Rooney said: “When Liverpool spent heavily to sign players like Florian Wirtz, Arnaud Kalimuendo, and Alexander Isak, I couldn’t help but wonder—what must Salah be thinking about this? Top players all have a sense of pride, and there’s no doubt that Salah has been one of the best players in the Premier League for a long time.”
“In last week’s game (the 1-0 narrow win over Burnley), you scored a goal and the team won—everything was great then. But when I look at this week, I have to say—I’ve questioned his work ethic. Of course, I know he doesn’t track back much defensively, but in the game against Chelsea, when Liverpool’s full-backs were completely exposed, he just stood by and did nothing. Admittedly, Alisson wasn’t in the lineup, but leaders in the dressing room like him (Alisson) and Virgil van Dijk should have reminded Salah—to tell him he needs to help the team. Salah looked completely lost in his performances over the past week, and that’s a bit worrying.”
