Officially, new signing Alejandro Garnacho will wear Chelsea’s No. 49 jersey. Prior to this, the Champions League squad list officially released by UEFA had already revealed that Garnacho’s jersey number at Chelsea would be 49.
Chelsea subsequently confirmed the news, stating that the Argentine winger will take the No. 49 shirt at the Blues. He joined Chelsea from Manchester United this summer for a transfer fee of £40 million.
The Argentine international began training at Cobham earlier this week and is expected to make his debut for Chelsea in the away match against Brentford on September 13.
