After Sacking, Chelsea Only Discovers Maresca's "Worst 48 Hours" Stemmed from Rift with Medical Department

Chelsea officially announced the sacking of head coach Enzo Maresca, and the media have written articles to update more inside details of the incident.

The media stated that the biggest controversy caused by Maresca was his so-called "worst 48 hours" comment after the 2-0 victory over Everton.

Such remarks caught Chelsea off guard. The Daily Mail tried to get Maresca to explain his dissatisfaction through the media, but he refused; insiders of the club also urged him to explain so that they could understand, but they were also rejected.

However, it is said that when Chelsea finally decided to part ways with Maresca on New Year's Day, they only found out the real reason behind his so-called "worst 48 hours" comment. Maresca was not accusing senior management such as Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali; the conflict was actually related to the medical advice he received regarding recovering players.

Before each game, Maresca would attend a briefing where he would be informed of how long certain players could play. For example, he would be told that Reece James could play 45 minutes, and then he could decide whether to let the team captain play the first half or the second half.

However, journalists understand that Maresca did not always follow this advice. Sometimes he would let players play longer than the medical department expected, which might lead to players getting injured again. This approach caused dissatisfaction within the team.
