Barcelona forward Yamal has been accused by a relevant association after inviting some people with dwarfism to perform at his recent personal birthday party.
It is reported that the Spanish Association for Skeletal Dysplasia (ADEE, a member organization of the Federation of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities) has publicly condemned and accused an inappropriate act that occurred at Yamal's recent 18th birthday party. It is learned that Yamal hired people with dwarfism to perform as entertainment at the party. The association also solemnly announced that it will take legal and social actions to safeguard the dignity of people with disabilities. The association believes that such an incident violates current laws and regulations and runs counter to the basic ethical standards that a society pursuing equality and respect should uphold.
In ADEE's view, Yamal's attention-seeking approach is intolerable. It perpetuates society's stereotypes about people with disabilities, fuels discrimination, and seriously harms the image and rights of people with achondroplasia or other skeletal dysplasia, as well as all people with disabilities.
In fact, this is not the first time such an issue has arisen. ADEE has long been actively committed to changing society's inherent perceptions of individual differences and has continuously condemned the historical practice of treating people with dwarfism as objects. The association invites people from all walks of life to join this initiative, and relevant details can be found on its official website and social media platforms.
Carolina Puente, President of ADEE, clearly stated:
"In the 21st century, it is absolutely unacceptable that private parties still treat people with dwarfism as objects of entertainment. And when public figures like Lamine Yamal are involved, the situation undoubtedly becomes more serious. The dignity and rights of our community should never be sacrificed for others' entertainment under any circumstances."
