Transfer | Son Heung-min's future at Tottenham is uncertain, Frank's attitude towards him is intriguing

Thomas Frank's attitude towards Son Heung-min is intriguing, and the South Korean could leave the club this summer.

Recently, Reading and Tottenham played a friendly match. Son Heung-min, who captained the team in the second half, seemed unable to find his form during his time on the pitch and lost possession on multiple occasions. However, it's worth noting that his blocked cross and an intercepted dribble indirectly helped Tottenham create a goal and a corner opportunity.

The Korean player also sent a shot from the edge of the box high over the bar and failed to control the ball during a breakthrough, drawing dissatisfaction from home fans. He clearly showed frustration during a counter-attack in the middle of the second half, when neither Kudus nor Donley could pass the ball to him in an open space.

Son  future remains unclear, and manager Thomas Frank's comments the previous day did little to dispel the doubts. When talking about Romero, his tone was more explicit, describing him as "very, very important to us" and "I know he's looking forward to the new season", implying that there had been communication between them.

When directly asked if Frank had spoken to Son and Romero about their futures, he did not give a direct response. He said: “My expectation is that all players are here, and they are training hard. That's my focus right now, and I'm very satisfied with their performance. They've set the standard in training and put in the effort. Like I said, they'll be playing tomorrow, which in itself is a sign that they're still in the team.”

Frank has not revealed much about Son.
