Pavel Nedvěd has been sentenced to 14 months in prison on charges including alleged financial fraud. Nedvěd stated that he chose to participate in the plea deal during the investigation into Juventus' financial irregularities because he loves Juventus.
The plea deals of Nedvěd, former president Andrea Agnelli, and former Juventus sports director Fabio Paratici were accepted by preliminary judge Maria Gavoni on Monday.
This investigation delved into Juventus' financial situation, seeking to find out whether Juventus artificially inflated transfer fees to make it easier to balance accounts through capital gains.
When commenting on the Ballon d'Or Awards Ceremony on TV, Nedvěd said, “I'm glad this is finally over.”
"I admit that was a very complicated and difficult period for me personally," he added. "Although I am innocent, I accepted the collective plea deal because I love Juventus and will continue to do so."
