Bayern Munich has issued an official injury update.
"Jamal Musiala has sustained a serious injury.
Examinations by the club's medical team have revealed that the attacking player has suffered a fibula fracture accompanied by an ankle dislocation. The 22-year-old flew from Orlando to Munich on Sunday morning and will undergo surgery in the coming days."
Bayern's Sporting Director Markus Eberl stated:
"This serious injury and long-term absence are a huge blow for Jamal and all of us. It's a major setback for Bayern.
Everyone knows how important Jamal is to our style of play and the pivotal role he plays in the team.
Moreover, the physical pain caused by this injury is deeply distressing; our hearts go out to him. Jamal had just recovered from a previous injury and now faces another lengthy absence. We will provide him with all the support he needs. We stand fully behind him, and we can't wait to welcome him back to the pitch."
