Barcelona's planned return to Camp Nou for the Gamper Trophy on August 10 faces crisis

Barcelona must obtain two permits before hosting any event at the renovated Camp Nou: an event permit and an initial occupancy permit. The former is a license to host sports events issued by municipal authorities, while the latter is a mandatory document required for the venue to hold any official activities.
Securing the event permit should pose no problem for the club, but the application for the initial occupancy permit has hit a snag. Municipal authorities have made it clear that they will not issue the permit unless Barcelona completes construction on the first and second tiers of the stands.
With only 34 days left until the Gamper Trophy, completing all finishing works and securing the permit on schedule is becoming increasingly difficult.
Undoubtedly, president Joan Laporta and his team will push forward with the remaining works with all their might. After all, if the club misses the deadline after publicly announcing its return, its image would suffer significant damage.
