Axel Tuanzebe is suing Manchester United over alleged medical negligence, with the lawsuit linked to the medical advice provided to him by the club.

Camel Live understands that Tuanzebe has launched proceedings in the High Court. He left United two years ago after his contract expired, joining Ipswich Town in September 2023. Tuanzebe's lawyers have declined to comment on the lawsuit. The player's career was plagued by injuries during his time at United before he moved to Ipswich. He helped Ipswich secure promotion to the Premier League that season, but after the club was relegated, his contract expired and he signed for Burnley last month, returning to the top flight with them.

Tuanzebe joined Manchester United's youth academy at the age of 8 and captained teams at every age group. However, after making his first-team debut in January 2017, he made just 37 appearances for the club over the next six and a half years. During this period, Tuanzebe was loaned to Aston Villa, Napoli, and Stoke City, but injury issues prevented him from establishing himself as a regular starter at United.

Tuanzebe's injury troubles began in October 2019, when he suffered a hip injury during pre-match warm-ups ahead of United's 1-1 Premier League draw with Liverpool. In December of the same year, he was injured again in a League Cup win over Colchester United, ruling him out for the rest of the season. A foot injury saw Tuanzebe miss the start of the following season, and he was sidelined for a long period at the start of the 2022-23 campaign, only returning to training in January of the following year before being loaned to Stoke City.

Injuries continued to plague him until he joined Ipswich Town, where Tuanzebe established himself as the team's first-choice right-back, making over 40 appearances. Last October, he accidentally cut his thumb while washing dishes, requiring surgery. This is the second legal dispute involving Manchester United in matters related to Tuanzebe.

In November last year, it emerged that an agent with a FA license had demanded payment from Manchester United, claiming the club had agreed to compensate him for facilitating Tuanzebe's loan move to Stoke City. Camel Live understands that the agent has reported the matter to the FA, accusing United of alleged breaches of agent regulations. It is understood that this dispute remains ongoing.
