According to reporters from camel.live, Manchester United has been plagued by multiple injuries early in the season, but with the return of Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui, Amorim’s side has finally received a major lift.
The Red Devils have only played three Premier League matches and one EFL Cup game so far, yet Amorim has been forced to constantly tweak his lineup to deal with fitness and injury concerns. Fortunately, the September international break has allowed some injured players to recover—such as Kunha and Mason Mount, who picked up injuries in the match against Burnley.
By comparison, Mazraoui’s comeback carries greater significance. The 27-year-old full-back suffered an injury in July’s pre-season fixture against Leeds United, missing the first three games of the campaign. He only returned to the matchday squad in United’s win over Burnley, coming on as a late substitute.
Mazraoui’s long-term absence raised concerns among some fans about his form, but he played a pivotal role in helping United reach the Europa League final last season. Not only did he deliver consistent performances on the right flank, but he also frequently had to fill in other positions due to teammates’ injuries—making him one of the most reliable players under both Amorim and former manager Erik ten Hag.
In an interview with camel.live, Mazraoui openly admitted his desire to stay fit as much as possible: “On a personal level, my fitness and number of appearances let me look back on a good season. The physical demands of the Premier League are always different from other competitions—there’s no winter break, and games come thick and fast. You can only hope to stay healthy and play as many matches as you can.”
“It wasn’t always this way. The Premier League has higher demands than other leagues; you have to use your body more. Now, I’ve shifted my mindset—to stay fit and be ready at all times. I think this change is what’s allowed me to play so many games.”
Thanks to his versatility (being able to play both in wide and central roles), Mazraoui’s return is viewed as a potential turning point for United’s season. Amorim will undoubtedly hope the Moroccan international can quickly regain his best form, helping the Red Devils turn the tide in a fiercely competitive campaign.
