Barça midfielder Dani Olmo, who withdrew from Spain's national team squad due to injury, has been diagnosed with a tear in his left soleus muscle and will be sidelined for at least three weeks. Initially, Olmo had a minor condition and did not undergo any medical tests. However, he experienced severe discomfort during Spain's training session held yesterday.
Furthermore, Olmo suffered the left soleus muscle tear due to an accidental collision during training last Friday morning, and medical tests have confirmed the injury. Further tests will be conducted next Monday, but it currently seems unlikely that Olmo will recover in time to play in El Clásico (Spain's national derby between Barça and Real Madrid).
According to sources from Barça, there is doubt over whether Olmo can feature in El Clásico, though the club has not yet ruled out the possibility. Before facing Real Madrid, Barça also has two matches scheduled: a league game against Girona and a Champions League match against Olympiacos. The attacking midfielder's recovery progress will determine if he can play in these games, but barring a major surprise, Olmo is generally considered unable to recover in time.
Catalan radio reports that FC Barcelona is furious with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The club informed the RFEF that Olmo arrived (at the national team) in poor physical condition and provided a detailed medical report. They cannot understand how the RFEF could ignore such a matter.
Olmo will return to Barcelona tomorrow to begin rehabilitation. He becomes the latest addition to Barça's injury list, which already includes Yamal, Gavi, Fermín, Ter Stegen, Raphinha, and Joan García.
