Max Eberl, Bayern Munich's sporting director, recently discussed topics related to the club's transfers and contract extensions in an interview.
Bayern Munich will host Chelsea in their first UEFA Champions League match of the midweek. When speaking in the interview, Eberl stated that he believes Bayern Munich will benefit from Nicolas Jackson's understanding of Chelsea's inside information. He said: “I believe Vincent Kompany and the coaching staff will ask him. In analysis, you can always identify some specific patterns. For example, what signals do they usually have during matches? What do these signals mean? I firmly believe the coaching staff will capitalize on this advantage.”
Jackson joined Bayern on loan from Chelsea this summer and made his debut for his new club in the previous round of the Bundesliga.
Additionally, Eberl also talked about the progress of negotiations with the team's French center-back Dayot Upamecano. He said: “The talks were conducted in French, which was very good. However, my French is just so-so, so we haven't made any progress so far.”
Upamecano's contract with Bayern Munich will expire next summer, and it is reported that a number of top European clubs are interested in signing him on a free transfer.
