Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl addressed transfer rumors linking the club to Nick Woltemade in a recent interview, casting doubt on the striker’s reported €80 million valuation.
"Right now, we can’t think calmly about each other’s perspectives, hold negotiations, or attempt to find common ground," Eberl stated. “Everyone has an opinion, which complicates finding a solution. The whole world knows we’re interested in Nick Woltemade—it’s no secret. With all the public chatter, I can’t predict the next steps. We’ll strive to reach an agreement, but it would be a shame if we can’t. I believe Stuttgart doesn’t want to deceive us; our relationship is too strong for that. We’ll maintain an objective negotiating stance—while we value the player, we must also manage our budget.”
Responding to Lothar Matthäus’ recent comments, Eberl said: “Uli Hoeneß was right. Trying to inflate the price without understanding internal discussions is excessive. Uli has contributed immensely to Bayern and German football for 50 years and continues to do so. Matthäus shouldn’t criticize Hoeneß like that.”
When pressed if Woltemade is truly worth €80 million, Eberl fired back: "Would you pay €80 million for Nick Woltemade? We’ll see if we can find a resolution."
