According to media reports, 41-year-old Thiago Silva is increasingly likely to return to AC Milan, with both parties considering a six-month contract.
Silva left AC Milan for Paris Saint-Germain in 2012. Last summer, he bid farewell to Chelsea and departed Europe's top five leagues to return to Brazilian club Fluminense.
Now, Milan is looking to bring him back in January next year. What started as a casual proposal is now becoming increasingly feasible.
Internal discussions at AC Milan over Silva's return have lasted for weeks, and latest updates indicate that calls to secure his comeback have grown stronger. The club plans to sign him to a six-month deal until June next year.
Italian media also note that Thiago Silva has plenty of reasons to return to Europe. Firstly, he cares about his family based in London, where his 17-year-old son Isago recently signed his first professional contract with Chelsea.
Secondly, he harbors a dream of representing Brazil at next year's World Cup. Though having been away from the national team for many years, Ancelotti's potential call would be more than tempting – and playing in Europe would help make that a reality.
