La Liga officially confirmed today that the league match between Barcelona and Villarreal will be held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, USA, on December 20.
In a statement, Barcelona president Joan Laporta said: “We are very much looking forward to meeting our fans in the United States again. Miami has a large community of Barcelona fans, and this match is not only a top-tier showdown but also a crucial step in the club's globalization strategy.”
This marks the first time Barcelona has appeared overseas for an official La Liga match. Hard Rock Stadium, which can accommodate over 65,000 spectators, has previously hosted events such as the NFL Super Bowl and the International Champions Cup.
