Sergio Ramos has left C.F. Monterrey upon the expiration of his contract and posted a farewell video to Mexico on social media.
In the video, Ramos said: “My journey in Mexico is coming to an end. Today we bid farewell here, saying goodbye to Monterrey. These days have been filled with a touch of sadness, because we came here filled with anticipation and passion, eager to achieve success. Though we weren't able to fulfill our goals as hoped, I've had a wonderful experience.
“This is a charming country, and the people here have treated me with immense kindness. I believe this club has a very promising future, and life must move forward.
“I want to thank this country and the people here for the care and respect shown to me in every detail. From the first day I arrived, I felt accepted and loved. Thank all the teammates for defending this badge with the same passion – we worked together as one.
“Thank you, Mexico. Sending a big kiss – goodbye!”
