Talk about your first few months at Barcelona and how you’ve adapted to the club, the city and the locker room.

Overall, I've adapted very well to the club and the city. From the first day I arrived here, I could feel the welcome from everyone. My purpose in coming to Barcelona is clear: to help the team win trophies. The team performed very well last season, but life changes in an instant, and our goal is to recreate those glories. I have been highly focused on this. Both the coaching staff and my teammates make me feel very comfortable; I have nothing to complain about.

Is your main goal in working hard to make the club activate the buyout clause and keep you?

Of course, I hope to stay at Barcelona—that’s my ultimate goal—but that’s not the reason I train hard every day and give my all. What really drives me is winning games and competing for trophies. Barcelona is a great club, and its existence is about winning championships.

Do you feel there is too much pressure and too high expectations at Barcelona, where you will be treated harshly if you don’t reach the highest level?

There is indeed pressure here, but it’s not negative pressure. It’s the kind of pressure, demands and expectations that players desire—the kind I’ve always wanted. It’s hard for me to play in a place without high goals or high demands; that would make it difficult for me to maintain my fighting spirit and strive for excellence.
Right now, I’m in a very ideal environment to continue advancing my career. Every day, I just try my best to do things well and help the team win games. As for what will happen next summer, only time will tell.
