Victor Osimhen’s early withdrawal due to injury during Nigeria’s international match has sparked concerns at Galatasaray.

Galatasaray spent €75 million this summer to sign Osimhen on a permanent deal from Napoli—having previously loaned the forward for the last season. However, after the star striker only made 3 appearances for Galatasaray in the new season, he was forced to ask for substitution just 35 minutes into Nigeria’s home World Cup Qualifier against Rwanda, which concluded in the early hours of this morning Beijing time, due to an ankle injury.

Given Osimhen’s importance, the Nigerian star’s injury while on international duty has raised widespread concern among Galatasaray and its fans. After being substituted, Osimhen was also photographed with a thick ice pack wrapped around his left ankle.
