Liverpool striker Diogo Jota, who tragically died at 28 in a car accident, had just married his long-time partner Rute Cardoso on June 22.

The pair first met in 2012 while attending high school in Porto. From their teenage years onward, they remained inseparable—Cardoso loyally followed Jota as he moved between clubs throughout his professional football career.

Jota and Cardoso share three children: two sons named Dinis and Duarte, and a daughter whose name has yet to be publicly revealed. In July 2022, they got engaged in a sweet lakeside ceremony, a cherished moment before their late-June wedding.
