37-year-old Jonny Evans has decided to resign after six months in the role of Manchester United’s loan manager.
Evans took up the position following his retirement at the end of June this year and has now opted to step down to spend more time with his family and take a short break.
It is understood that the separation is amicable, and Manchester United has begun searching for a new candidate for this key role, which primarily involves managing the club’s player loan strategy and tracking the development of loanees.
As a decorated graduate of Manchester United’s youth academy, Evans was praised by director of football Jason Wilcox as the perfect role model for young players when he assumed office earlier this summer.
