
East Bengal clinched successive victories in the Calcutta Football League as they routed BSS Sporting 6 - 0 at Barrackpore's Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay Stadium on Tuesday.
This triumph came hot on the heels of the Red and Gold Brigade's 3 - 2 win over arch - rival Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the CFL's Kolkata Derby, which ended their winless run in the competition.
After this victory, East Bengal climbed to the third spot in Group A, with 11 points accumulated from six matches. The top three teams in the group will qualify for the Super Six round.
Chaku Mandi, David Lalhlansanga, Muhammed Ashiq, Naseeb Rahman, Mark Zothanpuia, and Guite Vanlalpeka each scored a goal for the team managed by Bino George.
