1. The Stage is Set for a Title Decider
Welcome to the final race week of the 2025 F1 season! The 24th round, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, will unfold at the legendary Yas Marina Circuit. Max Verstappen's victory in the previous round has brought the Drivers' Championship battle to Abu Dhabi—where he famously ended Lewis Hamilton's bid for an eighth title to claim his first world championship back in 2021. However, Lando Norris holds the upper hand heading into this decisive weekend.
2. Yas Marina Circuit: Key Details & Updates
The Yas Marina Circuit stretches 5.281 kilometers, with the race consisting of 58 laps totaling 306.183 kilometers. Featuring 16 corners (8 left-handers and 8 right-handers), the track has undergone upgrades this year: the asphalt from Turn 1 to Turn 4 has been resurfaced to improve bumpiness and reduce tire degradation.

3. Championship Showdown: Standings & Title Scenarios
Verstappen's triumph in Qatar last week narrowed the gap to leader Norris to just 12 points. The current standings are: Norris (408 points, 1st), Verstappen (396 points, 2nd), and Oscar Piastri (392 points, 3rd). Here are the title-deciding scenarios for the final race:
- Norris: Secures the 2025 championship by finishing on the podium (top 3), regardless of Verstappen and Piastri's results— the simplest title condition among the three.
- Verstappen: Must win the race with Norris finishing no higher than 4th; or finish 2nd with Norris no higher than 8th; or claim 3rd with Norris no higher than 9th.
- Piastri: Faces the toughest challenge—needs to finish in the top 2, with Verstappen failing to win and Norris finishing no higher than 6th.
4. Team & Driver Transitions: 2026 Preview
With Red Bull and AlphaTauri announcing their 2026 lineups, Yuki Tsunoda will temporarily bid farewell to his 5-year F1 career. Meanwhile, Sauber will make its final appearance as an independent team before Audi's takeover next year. The German manufacturer, which has achieved remarkable success in WRC, WEC, and DTM, is set to make its F1 debut in 2026.
