After Haaland helped Norway defeat their World Cup qualifying opponent Moldova with a landslide 11-1 scoreline, netting five goals himself, Transfermarkt released the Manchester City star's goal tally in official national team matches and compared it with that of Ronaldo.
At the age of 25, Haaland has so far represented the Norway national team in 35 official matches throughout his career, scoring 39 goals—an impressive average of 1.11 goals per game. Meanwhile, Ronaldo, with a lengthy professional career, has to date featured in 169 official matches for the Portugal national team, scoring 119 goals, which gives him an average of 0.7 goals per game.
While releasing the above data, Transfermarkt also posed a question to fans: Given that Haaland is still young, is it possible for him to surpass Ronaldo in terms of goal count in official national team matches in the future?
