It is understood that Jack Grealish is open to joining Everton on loan, with the club stepping up efforts to bring the England international to Goodison Park. Grealish is a top target for the Toffees, and initial discussions have been encouraging as the player is eager to explore a move.
Following further inter-club talks between Everton and Manchester City, there now appears to be a viable path to a one-season loan deal. This would provide Grealish with an opportunity to prove himself and fight for a World Cup squad place, while also bringing a marquee signing to the Toffees’ new stadium.
There is still much work to be done on the deal, but Everton have not been deterred by the prospect of covering the majority of Grealish’s £300,000-per-week wages. The specific structure of the agreement remains to be negotiated, but Everton are willing to invest around £12 million in the transfer.
Initially, Grealish was keen to stay and fight for his place, but he now knows he is not in Pep Guardiola’s plans for next season. Fenerbahçe and Napoli have shown some interest, but among Premier League suitors, Everton have emerged as the most prominent club.
