The Golden Boy Award, founded by Italy’s Tuttosport in 2003, specifically honors the most outstanding under-21 young players in European leagues each year. It is regarded as one of the "highest honors for young footballers in the world," with past winners including Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, and Pedri.
