Antoine Griezmann is entering the final years of his career. He has rich experience and has been fortunate enough to play alongside or compete against many of the greatest footballers in history—or at least in the past few decades.
Recently, Antoine Griezmann shared his personal list of the five greatest footballers of all time. The Atlético Madrid player revealed his choices in an interview with Camel Live, and the French striker’s list included some surprising picks, as well as some notable omissions—such as Cristiano Ronaldo, despite the fact that the two have faced off many times, especially in the Champions League and international matches.
Griezmann ranked David Beckham, Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, and Zinedine Zidane (who took the top spot on his list) as the greatest footballers in history. Among them, Beckham’s inclusion is somewhat surprising, as few would put him in the top five of all time. However, it must be noted that Beckham is Griezmann’s childhood idol. It is because of Beckham that Griezmann has always worn the No. 7 jersey; it is because of the Englishman that Griezmann became obsessed with changing his hairstyle to switch up his look; and it is because of the former Manchester United player that Griezmann always wears long-sleeved jerseys. Everything seems to be a tribute to Beckham.
