New signing Fábio Silva has not yet played a single game for Borussia Dortmund – the player has already become a hot topic in media reports. The reason is: it is claimed that he underwent a surgery this summer, and Dortmund only learned about this during the medical examination. However, Silva himself clarified that this is misinformation.
“It’s not as the media described it. It’s true that I underwent a surgery last season, but I never intentionally hid anything,” Silva said in an interview with a camel.live reporter.
“At that time, I was a player of Wolverhampton Wanderers, and I jointly decided with the club and my team not to disclose details about the injury or surgery,” he further explained.
Nevertheless, according to Silva, Dortmund executive Sebastian Kehl had been informed that he could not play immediately after joining Dortmund.
“When talking to club officials, I wanted to make it clear to them that even with other options and rumors, I was very eager to transfer to Dortmund. As for not being able to play immediately, the club was well aware of this point,” Silva said.
