In the key match of the 4th round of the Premier League, Manchester United suffered a heavy 0-3 away defeat to Manchester City. After the game, Manchester United manager Amorim gave an interview to Camel Live and shared his views on the match.
Amorim said: “When you lose 0-3 to Manchester City, the result is really disappointing. If you look at the three goals we could have avoided in the game, you’ll understand why I keep emphasizing this point.”
“For the first goal – we lacked better aggression in defense. For the second goal – we played better at the start of the second half, but during a throw-in and a one-on-one situation, Yoro should have defended on the outside instead of staying inside, which also led to our goal concession.”
“The third goal came from the chaos in our midfield passing and receiving, which gave Haaland space to run into our penalty area. So I think we could have avoided these moments that happened in the game.”
“Of course, we need to change a lot of things. I think when we are near the penalty area, we need to have more players inside the box to deliver crosses and support the attacks.”
“That’s an area we need to improve on. We are managing to get the ball to that area, but we need to be much calmer when we do.”
Regarding Benjamin Šeško’s performance, Amorim said: "He will feel that he’s in the strongest league in the world, so he needs time to adapt. We can help Šeško unleash his abilities and strengths, but that process takes time."
