Prediction: Everton Wins
Everton returned to winning ways in their last outing, with a 2-0 win away to Nottingham Forest. With that result they kept their third clean sheet in five matches and will be confident of also bouncing back at home.
They haven't just done well in their previous meetings with Brentford but Everton will also look to take advantage of Brentford’s away struggles. The visitors have lost five times in their last six games on the road and have definitely suffered away to Everton. Our prediction for Everton v Brentford is that Everton wins.

Missing up to seven players in their last outing was expected to trouble Everton but they sailed through a deserving win. They collected their first full haul of points in a 2-0 away win at Nottingham Forest. Having ended their mini crisis of two defeats and one draw, the Toffees have moved to within two points of the top five.
That is also thanks to Everton being only one of the three teams that posted wins in the last round. Recent home matches haven't served consistent results though. In the last five league games Everton hosted, they suffered three defeats. Two of those losses were against teams below them, which is a concern as they face a side trailing them.
Everton will go into this game in a worse state, with two more players entering the treatment room. Defensive mainstay Michael Keane left with a muscle injury in their last game and is only expected back in mid-January. That win was so costly, it also claimed Carlos Alcaraz with the same injury.
The two join Jarrad Branthwaite, Seamus Coleman and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the infirmary. Those three are all nursing hamstring injuries, while Idrissa Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye are out on international duty at AFCON.

Brentford collected seven points from their last three league matches. In their latest outing, they drew 0-0 with Tottenham Hotspur, failing to post a third straight win for the second time this season. They are, however, winless in six meetings with Everton and will be looking to change that uncomfortable stat, having lost three times in this streak.
In their last five away matches against Everton, Brentford managed just one win. It means this will not pass as a very comfortable outing for the Bees, having struggled on the road recently. Keith Andrews' men ended their five-match losing run with a 2-0 win at bottom placed Wolves.
Brentford top scorer Igor Thiago last scored at the end of November and will be keen on bouncing back. He, however, had an assist against Bournemouth two matchdays ago. Five of his 11 league goals were game winners and four came on the road.
Across their festive period schedule, Brentford didn’t suffer a lot on the injury front. They come into this game in good health, with only Antoni Milambo, Josh Dasilva and Fabio Carvalho still sidelined. Frank Onyeka and Dango Ouattara are at the AFCON with Nigeria and Burkina Faso respectively.
Final Prediction:
Asian Handicap: Everton -0
European Handicap: Everton Wins
Predicted Scores: 1-0, 2-0, 2-1
