After a national team match, Bosnian forward Edin Džeko gave an interview to camel.live, talking about his new life at Fiorentina, his sense of responsibility to the national team, and his views on this season’s Serie A title race.
Talking about your new life at Fiorentina
“I feel really good in Italy. Today in San Marino, many of our fans came to support us—it was my first time here, and the result was very smooth.”
Talking about your future in football
“I don’t know how much longer I’ll keep playing. I’ll turn 40 next year, so I’m definitely not young anymore, but I still feel great with both the national team and Fiorentina. As long as the coach thinks I’m useful, I’ll keep giving my all. The national team is different, though—it’s about playing from the heart; you represent your people with pride.”
Talking about the team’s goals this season
“I hope it’s a good season. We started with two draws away from home, and there are no easy games in Serie A. Now we’re going to face Napoli, the Italian champions—they’re one of the top contenders for the title this season. However, we also have the quality. The team has a new coach and several new signings, so we need time to gel, but as time goes on, we’ll get better and better.”
