In the second round of the Coppa Italia, Pisa lost 0-1 away to Torino and was eliminated from the competition. During the match, Pisa head coach Alberto Gilardino substituted in Louis Buffon—son of his former national team teammate Gianluigi Buffon—in the 68th minute.
Unlike his father, the 17-year-old Louis Buffon is a left-footed player and plays as a left winger on the pitch. He joined Pisa's youth team in the summer of 2023 and had already come on as a substitute to make his professional debut in a Serie B match last March. Now, he has also stepped onto the Coppa Italia stage for the first time.
Louis Buffon has been included in Pisa's matchday squad for the first two rounds of Serie A this season. Next, this member of the Czech Republic U19 national team may be in line to make his debut in the Serie A league.
