Nottingham Forest 1-2 Premier League defeat to Manchester City.
Nottingham Forest have officially lodged a complaint with the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) over the refereeing decisions in their recent match against Manchester City, demanding further relevant information.
Reports state that Nottingham Forest have formally filed a complaint to the PGMOL regarding their game against Manchester City. They have requested access to the audio recordings of communications between the on-field referee and the VAR team during key moments of the match, to better understand the relevant refereeing decisions.
There are two major controversial incidents in this match:
In the 46th minute, Manchester City centre-back Rúben Dias, who already had a yellow card, brought down Nottingham Forest's Igor Jesus, who was in a threatening attacking position. Had this foul been ruled as denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity, Dias would have received a second yellow card and been sent off.
Prior to Manchester City scoring the winning goal, Forest player Morgan Gibbs-White fell to the ground in the penalty area after a physical tussle with Manchester City defender Nico O'Reilly. Forest argued that O'Reilly committed a pushing foul, which prevented Gibbs-White from defending properly, but both the referee and VAR ruled there was insufficient contact, and the goal stood.
