Before appointing Liam Rosenior as Chelsea’s head coach, BlueCo needs to find his successor at RC Strasbourg Alsace.

After Enzo Maresca’s sacking, Strasbourg head coach Liam Rosenior has become the top favorite for Chelsea’s new manager position. However, Chelsea faces a major obstacle in bringing Rosenior to Stamford Bridge.
The BlueCo group owns both Chelsea and Strasbourg, and their decision to appoint Rosenior at Chelsea depends on the speed of finding a replacement for Strasbourg.
BlueCo has been criticized in the past for its lack of attention to Strasbourg. Any position adjustment targeting Stephan will disrupt Strasbourg’s season, but according to a source close to Behdad Eghbali, co-owner of the BlueCo group, BlueCo doesn’t care at all about the impact their actions will have on Strasbourg.
Chelsea’s parent consortium spent 400 million euros to acquire Strasbourg in 2023. Over the past two years, Strasbourg fans have protested against BlueCo’s actions in various ways before and during matches. Last season, Strasbourg performed excellently and obtained Europa Conference League qualification.
