Carvajal: Being Captain Means a Lot; Hope to Lead the Team to Become a Winning Side

On the Match
A good start is crucial in La Liga. We know that due to the short preparation time, the team needs to gradually find its rhythm. We lacked some depth and failed to maintain a fast tempo, but our defense encountered no major difficulties, and we played a balanced game between attack and defense. We have only worked with the coach for a short time; what matters is securing the three points and continuing to absorb his ideas.
Returning to the Bernabéu
It’s very special. I’ve talked about it with my teammates. From the moment I stepped onto the pitch, I felt the fans’ passion. I thank them for their care over these 318 days. Now I’m back, and my goal is to bring everyone victories and championships. I feel really good; I’ve been training hard and am finding my rhythm. With more training, my form will return. I’m happy to play at my home ground, feeling everyone’s love, and now I need to start focusing on the game in Oviedo.
On Being Captain
This is a reward for years of work. Being able to be captain means a lot. I hope to take on this role with the greatest pride and lead the team to become a winning side.
