According to Borussia Dortmund's official website, Marco Reus has been named the club's new ambassador.
Marco Reus is an iconic player of Borussia Dortmund and an idol in the hearts of fans. From now on, the native of Dortmund and former captain will continue to serve the club in a new role – Borussia Dortmund Ambassador.
Reus' connection with Borussia Dortmund dates back a long time: he spent his youth in the club's youth academy from 1995 to early 2005, and returned to Borussia Dortmund from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2012 as the “German Footballer of the Year.”
Reus was a key member of the team that reached the UEFA Champions League final in London in 2013. He won the DFB-Pokal twice, lifting the trophy as captain in 2021. The attacking player served as Borussia Dortmund's captain for five years.
After leaving Borussia Dortmund in 2024, Reus joined Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy and won the league championship in his debut season.
Currently, Reus' contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy runs until the end of 2026. Even during his active playing career, Reus will represent Borussia Dortmund at various events.
