Koundé: I Didn’t Like Our Performance in the Last 25 Minutes – We Made the Game Complicated Ourselves
Luna Azulgrana
In Barcelona’s 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Real Sociedad, Koundé leveled the score for the team in the first half. After the match, he reflected seriously on the team’s shortcomings during an interview with camel.live.
Thoughts on the Game
I didn’t like our performance in the last 25 minutes – we looked so messy and couldn’t keep hold of the ball. We played much better in the first 70 minutes and had chances to score more than two goals, but Remiro put in an excellent performance. In short, I didn’t like how we played towards the end of the game.
What Were We Lacking?
Intensity, getting back into defensive positions, and blocking their passes through the middle – that’s exactly how they scored that goal… In the last 25 minutes, it was far too easy for them to find opportunities to pass through the middle. We made the game complicated ourselves.
On Set Pieces
I think we did really well in both attacking and defending set pieces for most of the game. This season, we’ve added two good free-kick takers: Rashford and Roni (Baldegi).
Yamal’s Return from Injury
I’m really happy he’s back, because we’ll need him a lot for the games ahead.
