Barcelona are waiting for La Liga’s medical committee to rule on Marc-André ter Stegen’s injury report.
The club believes he could be sidelined for over four months and is seeking official confirmation from La Liga. If approved by club doctors, FC Barcelona will gain the right to use a portion of ter Stegen’s contract salary to register Juan García.
The percentage of the salary cap available depends on the severity of the injury: 50% of the German goalkeeper’s wages can be used if he is expected to miss four months, rising to 80% for a five-month or longer absence.
Regardless, Barça are optimistic that the medical committee will align with their team doctors’ assessment.
La Liga’s medical committee is set to make a decision at the Spotify Camp Nou offices between today and tomorrow, paving the way for Juan García to complete his registration and make his league debut in the No. 1 jersey next Saturday.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are also anticipating the completion of auditor Crowe’s report, which is expected to approve 30 years of revenue from 475 VIP seats sold to companies New Era and Fortia Advisor.
Once this stadium "lever" is activated and the seats are installed, the audit approval will see Barça officially return to a 1:1 salary cap ratio, easing their financial concerns.
