According to reporters from camel.live, Manchester United are in line to sign Anderson for a fee of £70 million.
Former Newcastle United midfielder Anderson has emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United, with reports suggesting the Red Devils are considering a £70 million move for the Nottingham Forest star.
Anderson came through Newcastle’s youth academy and made 55 appearances for the club’s first team before moving to Nottingham Forest in a £35 million deal in July 2024.
The decision to let the then 22-year-old leave sparked some criticism at the time, but Eddie Howe’s side had no choice but to sell players to comply with the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
There were concerns that Newcastle might regret letting Anderson go, as he has the potential to develop into a top Premier League player—and he now appears to be fulfilling that potential.
In fact, Anderson played a key role in helping Nottingham Forest finish seventh last season and secure qualification for this season’s Europa League. His impressive form has continued into the current campaign, which earned him his international debut for England—managed by Thomas Tuchel—against Andorra earlier this month.
After a standout performance that saw him named Man of the Match, Anderson impressed again in England’s game against Serbia, making his second appearance for the national team.
It is reported that Nottingham Forest values Anderson at a minimum of £70 million. Currently, the midfielder is understood to have no intention of leaving the City Ground (Nottingham Forest’s home stadium).
Sources indicate that Newcastle may not have included a sell-on clause in Anderson’s contract, which could result in a significant loss for the Magpies if he is sold for a large transfer fee.
