Contract renewal negotiations between Real Madrid and their Brazilian forward Vinícius have reached an impasse at present. The relationship between the two parties has become increasingly tense due to a series of controversial behaviors by the player recently and the rift that has emerged between him and the Bernabéu fans.

Some of Vinícius’ on-field actions have aroused dissatisfaction among a section of the fans. This discontent has gradually accumulated, leading to a estrangement between him and the supporters, which has undoubtedly cast a shadow over the renewal negotiations.

Faced with the risk of Vinícius possibly leaving the club, Real Madrid’s senior management have not stood idly by, but have quickly formulated a contingency plan. The core of this plan is to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s midfield linchpin Vitinha. Real Madrid believe that after the departure of midfield maestros Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić, the team is in urgent need of a world-class playmaker to orchestrate the team’s attacks. With his excellent technical ability and tactical awareness, Vitinha is regarded as the ideal candidate to fill this void.

If Vinícius ultimately refuses to renew his contract, Real Madrid’s minimum asking price for his transfer will be no less than €100 million. This huge sum of money will be used by Real Madrid to sign Manchester City’s Norwegian striker Erling Haaland or PSG’s Vitinha. However, judging from the current situation, the possibility of signing Vitinha seems higher.

Although Vitinha has renewed his contract with Paris until 2030, there is a private agreement between the two parties: as long as a club makes an offer of €100 million and the player himself is willing to leave, Paris will give their approval for the transfer. While the player is unlikely to publicly state his transfer intentions midway through the season, Real Madrid has identified him as a more feasible midfield reinforcement target besides Rodri, and is actively pushing forward with relevant transfer matters.
