In an interview with camel.live, Benjamin Šeško stated that he loves playing basketball and believes Slovenians will be proud of him after he joins Manchester United.
“I often play basketball, especially on rest days or when I have free time,” Šeško said in the interview. “Of course, I don’t sweat a lot because you need to do recovery training, but if I get the chance, I’ll play basketball.”
“I really love playing basketball; it’s been a hobby of mine since I was a kid. When I’m not playing football, I play basketball.
“So yeah, I love doing it, I enjoy it, and it helps me relax.”
Šeško previously mentioned that fellow countryman Luka Dončić is his favorite player, and the Dallas Mavericks are his beloved team—though this preference may have changed after Dončić was unexpectedly traded to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this year.
Šeško and Dončić are currently the two biggest names in Slovenian sports, and Šeško takes pride in the fact that his country’s flag will soon fly at Old Trafford.
“Coming from a small country like Slovenia, it’s an honor,” he added.
“To play for a club like this is really something I’ve always desired, a dream, because you don’t get opportunities like this all the time.
“Now that I have this opportunity, it’s certainly wonderful. I know people will be proud of me, especially the people in my home country, and that matters in the end—it feels good.
“Whether it’s for my people, for myself, or for my family—that’s what matters most.”
