About Oman Professional League (OPL)

Oman Professional League (OPL) is Oman's highest-tier professional football league, established in 1976. Initially featuring 14 teams, the league's champion qualifies for the AFC Cup. Dhofar FC holds the record with 12 titles, surpassing Al-Duhail's 9 championships. For the 2024–25 season, the league reduced to 12 teams, with Seeb SC leading the table with 37 points, closely followed by Al-Nahda on 35 points.

Competition Format

The league operates on a double-round-robin system, where each team plays 22 matches (home and away against every opponent). The bottom two teams are relegated to the Oman First Division.
Champions' Privileges
The league winner gains access to the ACL qualifying rounds, while runners-up may participate in the AFC Cup.

Notable Stadium

The largest venue is the Sultan Qaboos Sport Complex, which can accommodate 28,000 spectators after recent renovations, down from its original capacity of 39,000.
